We also started thinking about what kind of environment we wanted our young daughter to grow up in. With one of us having been a passionate backyard gardener for over 20 years and the other one loving to make homemade pickles, salsas, jams and jellies, starting a small farm was the perfect way to scale up our complementary passions, while at the same time giving our daughter a different kind of education to complement her formal schooling.
So we sold our house in Gordon Head and moved to Saanichton and while it has been a lot of hard work, it has also been an incredibly rewarding experience for the whole family.
