About our serrano peppers
Serranos are slender chilies with thin walls, a crisp bite, and a clean, sharp heat that is noticeably hotter than a jalapeño. We harvest them green, when their flavour is bright and grassy, so they are ready to dice raw into salsa and pico de gallo, blend into a hot sauce, or go into the brine for pickling and fermenting.
After our success growing Fresno peppers as a field crop, we added serranos in 2026 and planted them at a scale meant for kitchens as well as home cooks. We harvest through the season, so a steady supply is possible for customers who plan ahead.
Grown on the Saanich Peninsula
Valley View Farm is in Saanichton, on the Saanich Peninsula, minutes from Sidney and a short drive from Victoria. Our peppers are grown in the field rather than a greenhouse, and like everything at Valley View Farm they are grown pesticide-free with a minimum of off-farm inputs.
Peppers need the warmth of summer to ripen, so availability is seasonal. If you need a set quantity on a regular schedule, get in touch before the harvest starts and we will plan around it.
